Impeachment

Impeachment (Showcasing x Lawless Secret) was bought at the Tattersalls Guineas breeze up sales, she was our first ever breeze up purchase and to date, she was our most expensive purchase at 33,000 guineas. For what she lacked in size, she made up for in determination and courage.

Impeachment made her debut at Lingfield over 5F, where she stayed on strongly to finish a close up third. The run certainly caught the eye of Racing Post, calling her the eye-catcher of the entire day. She again placed on her second and third start, proving that she was a filly with a lot of potential. The handicapper gave her a mark of 72 for the three runs, but we were determined to win the £20,000 GB Bonus for our owners.

On the 14th September we sent her to North Yorkshire and the stiff 5f at Beverley, it was a competitive open novice but she managed to get up in the last strides to win the bonus. After a couple more competitive runs in Nurseries, we accepted an offer for her. The offer was a very fair offer and it was more than we paid for her at the sales.

We wish her the best of luck.

Aristobulus

Aristobulus was sold at the Tattersalls sales. We bought Aristobulus at the December yearling sales in 2020. Admittedly we were checking out others in the parade ring when he strutted his stuff around the ring like he owned the place. However, you could not be anything but impressed with how he looked. We decided to pull him to the side to take a closer inspection and he passed that with flying colours. We were thrilled to be the highest bidder at just 11,000gns. From the moment we set eyes on the son of Adaay, we knew he would be great value for money.

Aristobulus was broken in under the watchful eye of James Ferguson, he wintered well, trained well and behaved impeccably. It was no surprise to see him just get up on debut at Chelmsford to the delight of his owners! On handicap debut he romped home at Nottingham by 3 and 3/4 lengths and was raised 11 pounds by the handicapper.

He signed off the season in great style with an impressive 3rd in a hot Goodwood handicap on heavy ground.

His three runs back as a three year old have proved that he has trained on. A running on second at Nottingham on Good to Firm ground. Then a highly unlucky 4th at Haydock.

Although we sold Aristobulus with a very heavy heart, we were delighted that the colt made 45,000gns. He sold for 4 x times his purchase cost and he also won £12,000 in prize money. A great return for his owners!!
