Jimmy Boy

As some of you are aware we have been considering getting involved in National Hunt racing and we are excited to announce we have acquired our first Hasmonean National Hunt horse.

Jimmy Boy was our first choice selection at the recent Goffs HIT sale and we are delighted to have acquired our main target. It has been hard to ignore our chosen trainer James Owen’s impressive start since taking out his National Hunt licence, and if he can continue anywhere near his current 30% strike rate, I believe we are in good hands.

James has shown he is able to markedly improve horses under his care, and Jimmy Boy fits the profile with which he has already achieved great success. This son of Elzaam has already shown enough ability on track to show we have something promising to work with. He ran well for a long way when finishing 3rd of 18 at Cork only three runs back, and again when a fast finishing 6th of 14 at Ballinrobe last time out. Despite a fall in between these runs, we are confident James has the credentials to quickly improve not only the horses physicality, but also his racing mind. James has decided to retain 50% so the ownership group will be fairly small and therefore we will be offering 10 x 5% shares.

Jimmy Boy disappointed for us on debut but was found to have an infection after a blood test. He has fully recovered from this and we expect to see a good showing from him on his next start.
